Jose Mourinho sends ‘positive’ message to Man United fans about Pep Guardiola

Jose Mourinho has described his relationship with Manchester City rival Pep Guardiola as “positive”.

The Portuguese coach took over the reins at Manchester United last summer to renew his rivalry with Guardiola.
The former Spain international was named as Manuel Pellegrini’s successor at the Etihad Stadium at the start of 2016 before taking charge at the end of the season.
Guardiola limited Mourinho’s success during the Manchester United boss’ spell in charge at Real Madrid as Barcelona dominated the domestic and European scene under the ex-midfielder.
The pair had a testy relationship in Spain which was often reflected in their players’ performance on the pitch, with the El Clasico becoming embattled affairs.
However, Guardiola and Mourinho shared a civil first season in Manchester despite the Citizens winning 2-1 at Old Trafford in September before a goalless draw at The Etihad earlier this year.
And the Manchester United manager has rubbished talk of ill-feeling between the two coaches ahead of 2017-18 Premier League campaign.
“We were good friends and we showed that last season, that we could perfectly show the football world that our relationship is positive,” Mourinho told ESPN.
“Are we rivals? Yes. We want to win the same titles? Yes. But with the respect that we could show last season.”
Manchester United have signed Benfica defender Victor Lindelof and Everton striker Romelu Lukaku in the summer transfer window so far.

Mata makes one massive omission from Manchester United all-time XI

Juan Mata is a fan favourite at Manchester United.

The diminutive Spaniard’s future looked in doubt when Jose Mourinho turned up at Old Trafford. After all, Mourinho was the manager who cast him out of Chelsea.
But Mata’s technique and work ethic saw him become an integral player in Mourinho’s side, chipping in with some stellar performances. And the Spain playmaker has assembled a formidable all-time Manchester United XI – but he’s missed one player who many would have included: Roy Keane.

Take a look at the side he selected:

Keane isn’t the only big name to miss out. Gary Neville and Denis Irwin missed the cut due to Mata’s decision to play three at the back, and the likes of Gary Pallister, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Dwight Yorke, George Best and Sir Bobby Charlton were also left out.
“I think it’s a great team,” Mata told Virgin Money. “I think we have a mix of everything. Obviously, we have very quick players and the right foot of David Beckham is maybe the best.
“We have a lot of goals and magic, and great defenders both with and without the ball. And then we have the best goalkeeper.
“I’m proud of my team!”

MANCHESTER UNITED CANNOT AFFORD TO SELL DARMIAN THIS SUMMER

The pre-season friendlies have well and truly begun and naturally, social media is littered with hot takes and tactical analyses of games that are played for the sole purpose of integrating new signings into the first team and building fitness ahead of the new season.
Amidst the bedlam, United are still negotiating deals, the nature of some – unclear, yet others – pretty obvious, at this point in time. The Red Devils are reported to be in advanced talks to finally rope in Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic as the clubs are still believed to be haggling over a few million quid – a power struggle that has stretched for weeks now. But recent developments suggest that the Milanese club are indeed looking for a cash + player deal to part with one of their best attacking players and that player happens to be United’s only Italian International Matteo Darmian.
Football Italia, usually one of the more reliable sources when it comes to the nitty-gritty of Italian football, has mentioned a few questionable news outlets in the piece that revealed the latest information, but it’s hard to imagine why Mourinho wouldn’t have considered the likelihood of selling his second-choice left-back for a player, who could hugely benefit his biggest and most expensive signing in the Summer.
But was Mourinho right, if that were the case? Should Manchester United sell one of their own most important and consistent footballers towards the back-end of last campaign to accommodate a new signing, who they could buy anyway?
Matteo Darmian has been one of United’s steady-eddies last season – whenever he was called upon to do a defensive job at every position across that back four. At a time when the Red Devils struggled to field orthodox defenders, the Italian, always known for his industrious work-rate and doing his defensive duties right by sticking to the basics, proved to be a very vital player for Mourinho, who almost always counted on the 27-year old in crunch games in the final months of the season.
The Italian not just merely featured in key fixtures throughout April and May but also managed to have a positive effect on most of those big occasions, where his experience and diligent defending has often bailed him out, compensating for the lack of threatening pace and crossing abilities of a modern fullback.
He was one of the best players at Old Trafford when Manchester United outwitted Chelsea, from a left-back position, where he stifled the dangerous Pedro for the entirety of the game. The Italian was once again vital as Mourinho’s well-drilled United snuffed out the explosive young attacking talents of Ajax Amsterdam in Stockholm. In two of Mourinho’s most typical victories in 2016/17, Darmian has been one of, if not the stand-out performer at United.
The 27-year old clocked close to 2000 minutes of first-team football for United in 2016/17 – where he particularly shone in the successful Europa League making 7 appearances, averaging a combined 6 tackles and interceptions per game and a Whoscored.com rating of 7.17. Yet, there is a consensus that Darmian would never establish himself as the first-choice left-back with the game moving on towards more dynamic full-backs whose primary task is often to create scoring opportunities as opposed to tracking the opposition winger.
The Italian addressed the rumours surrounding his future at United as early as May when he admitted to the intensity of competition at United for full-back places and the fact that he was suffering from it. But in reality, Manchester United are still without a reliable and established full-back who could play week-in week-out, in what is expected to be another long and hard season.
Luke Shaw is on the mend while Antonio Valencia is on the wrong side of 30 to be involved in three games in a week, meaning Mateo Darmian is best positioned to grab any opportunity that will most certainly come his way. With the World Cup on the horizon, it is understandable if the Italian wanted out of Manchester for more guaranteed playing time but that doesn’t solve any problems at Old Trafford and if anything, it would only create one.
Losing Matteo Darmian will be a bigger blow for Jose Mourinho than letting go of the likes of Morgan Schneiderlin, Memphis Depay and Bastian Schweinsteiger in January as the Portuguese was left with a weaker squad in terms of both size and arguably – quality, to navigate through a fairly congested fixture calendar in the second half of 2016/17.
He cannot afford a similar mistake this Summer, however.

Man United make ‘breakthrough’ in deal to sign 28-year-old

Manchester United have made a breakthrough in their bid to sign Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan this summer, according to reports in the British media.

The Independent is reporting that the Red Devils are finally close to completing a deal to sign the 28-year-old winger from the Italian club.
The Red Devils have been heavily linked with a bid to sign Perisic from Inter this summer but a deal has not yet been confirmed.
Now, the same story is claiming that a deal for Manchester United to wrap up Perisic as their third summer signing is due to be confirmed in the next few days.
The article also claims that personal terms with the player had already been agreed as Manchester United look to confirm the arrival of Perisic this week.
The story, written by Miguel Delaney, also claims that Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho sees Perisic as a “key signing” for the Red Devils ahead of the Portuguese coach’s second campaign in charge at the club.
Manchester United confirmed the signing of Romelu Lukaku from Everton last week following the arrival of defender Victor Lindelof from Benfica.

Mata believes Morata could still join Manchester United

Jose Mourinho does not expect Manchester United to sign Alvaro Morata but Spain team-mate Juan Mata believes a move is still possible.

Manchester United attacking midfielder Juan Mata believes Alvaro Morata could still join the club, despite the arrival of Romelu Lukaku from Everton.
Jose Mourinho's side were heavily linked with Real Madrid striker Morata before completing the signing of Lukaku for a reported £75million.
The United boss stated at the weekend that it was Madrid's decision not to sell the Spain international and conceded that a deal to bring him to Old Trafford is unlikely.
However, compatriot Mata is refusing to give up on the idea that Morata could become his team-mate before the end of August.
"It looks tough to see Alvaro Morata in a Red Devils shirt with the arrival of Romelu," he told Cadena Cope. "We've signed an important player in attack and it's difficult, although you never know.
"Things can happen in the last few days, but I wish Alvaro the best."
Talk of Morata moving to United is unlikely to die down while speculation persists that Madrid are ready to reignite their interest in goalkeeper David de Gea.
A part-exchange deal involving the two players was mooted early last month, with Mourinho reportedly happy to consider allowing De Gea to leave.
Mata is confident that he will not be going anywhere, however, stating: "I think De Gea will stay."

£150,000-A-WEEK DEAL ON CARDS ! – £40M ‘3-TIME PREMIER LEAGUE WINNER’ WANTS MOVE COMPLETED IN THE NEXT 48-HOURS

Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic is reportedly planning for a reunion with former boss Jose Mourinho as he waits on a £40m move to Manchester United.

The Serbian international is likely to see his playing time badly affected with the arrival of Tiemoue Bakayoko this week, as he had been heavily linked with an exit once the French midfielder had signed.

Having now seen him arrive and effectively push him down the pecking order, the Sun ☀️claim that the Serbian man has set a 48-hour deadline for the Blues to finalize a deal on his future.

It’s added per the British tabloid that the Chelsea man can leave the Stamford Bridge for £40m, but ultimately the Premier League giants would prefer to see him leave the Bridge and join Juventus rather than to be sold and strengthen league rival sides.

Though, Arsenal and Manchester United are the only EPL club interested in the Blues £90,000-a-week star but, the midfielder is said to have his heart set on a move to United, while it’s claimed that the Europa League winner would be able to offer him the best financial package too with a £150,000-a-week deal over four years said to be on table.

Considering all the details, it would appear as though Matic who was named Benfica’s footballer of the year in 2013, wants a move to Manchester and nowhere else, but it remains to be seen if the Blues would give that green light switch to Old Trafford.

The 28-year-old played an important role in the Blues Premier League title-winning last season in west London, and so Matic leaving is in itself a shock as the Blues will need quality and depth across the squad to compete on various fronts this coming season with their return to the Champions League in mind.

However, it looks as though it will be one in and one out with regards to their midfield, as he awaits permission to complete a move to Old Trafford.

Is he coming to Old Trafford or join Arsenal this summer, to be sincere, I don’t know a shit about on what’s gonna happen, but Mourinho bringing to the Theatre of Dreams this summer, would be another great 👍🏿 thing from the Portuguese man.

Matic with Chelsea so far, as won three Premier League titles, was also part of the Blues squad that won the 2015 English Cup and the English FA Cup in 2010, according to Transfermarkt.

Jose Mourinho sends message to Man United supporters about Marcus Rashford

Jose Mourinho believes that Marcus Rashford has already developed a great deal physically since he arrived at Manchester United last year.

Mourinho began coaching Rashford at Old Trafford following his appointment as Red Devils boss back in May 2016.
Rashford found himself playing second fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahimovic for much of last season but still produced some crucial goals for the Red Devils as they won an EFL Cup and Europa League double.
The 19-year-old will be hoping to hold down a regular spot in the first team at Old Trafford next season as Mourinho prepares for his second season in charge at the club.
And Mourinho feels that Rashford has already developed physically as he prepares for his second campaign.
Speaking at his post-match news conference after Manchester United’s 5-2 win over LA Galaxy on Saturday night, Mourinho said: “It’s just the natural evolution of a kid.
“You change your body when you’re a young kid. He’s already taller than when I arrived 13 months ago – he’s three centimetres taller – and he put on some muscle but without any kind of specific work because his speed is his most important quality.”
Manchester United are preparing for a return to the Champions League next season after they won the Europa League last term under Mourinho.

We will kick start our pre-season campaign with a friendly match against MLS side LA Galaxy on 15th July.

United’s boss Jose Mourinho has already strengthened his squad by signing the likes of Victor Lindelof and Romelu Lukaku in the summer transfer window and it will not come as any surprise if the duo start against the Americans.

The former Chelsea boss may name a strong starting XI against the American team and we can expect more than a few first team players to start.

De Gea may start in goal for the Red Devils. In the back line, the likes of Lindelof and Bailly should start in the central defense.
On the other hand, Valencia and Darmian may start in the full back positions.

In the center of the park, new captain Michael Carrick may line up with Spanish international Ander Herrera.

As far as the attack is concerned, Mkhitaryan and Martial should start in the wide positions and record signing Pogba should start in the No. 10 role behind Lukaku. Here is Manchester United’s strongest possible XI vs La Galaxy.

Man United CEO misses US tour to complete £95m double deal

According to the reports from Daily Mail, Manchester United CEO Ed Woodward has not flown out with the rest of Red Devils squad to the United States and remained in England in order to wrap up deals for both Inter’s Ivan Perisic and Tottenham’s Eric Dier.

The Old Trafford side have unveiled Romelu Lukaku on Monday in a deal that could reach £100m if a number of clauses and targets are met, and Man United boss Jose Mourinho has instructed the club to make as many as three more signings before the season starts.
And as per the same sources, Ed Woodward – who has joined the squad in previous trips – is continuing negotiations with both Tottenham and Inter for Dier and Perisic, though the latter will be more difficult to secure.
The San Siro side are holding out for £48m for the 28-year-old Croatian, though Man United feel a new and improved offer for £45m – their third bid for the winger – will be enough to finally convince the Serie A club to let their winger leave.
Perisic is currently taking part in Inter’s pre-season camp in Riscone di Brunico, and both clubs are keen for a deal to be concluded by next Tuesday.
