Even though reports are suggesting that Manchester United have managed to agree a fee for the signing of Tiemoue Bakayoko, the deal remains in the balance.
Following a collapse in the proposed move for Fabinho, Jose Mourinho has been working on securing the acquisition of Bakayoko instead.
Manchester United have already beaten the Blues in the race for another man’s signature after Romelu Lukaku opted to move to Old Trafford despite an offer from Antonio Conte’s side.
Reports on Monday suggested that the Red Devils had agreed a fee of €39.5 million with Monaco for the signing of Bakayoko.
However, Kaveh Solhekol is now reporting on Twitter that Chelsea are indeed the likeliest destination for the 22-year-old.
The Sky Sports journalist claims Bakayoko is set for a medical within a couple of days as United appear to have lost out on his services.
After the disappointment of missing out on Lukaku, Antonio Conte has now bounced back by snatching the Monaco star away from the Red Devils.
